HERZPARASIT (Heart Parasite) are a poisonous blend of metal, rock, gothic and industrial. A merely rough classification to the genre “Neue Deutsche Härte” (New German Hardness) does not do them justice. HERZPARASIT offer a lot more in terms of lyrics as well as music and visuals.
HERZPARASIT are about alienation, speechlessness, evanescence, fear of letting go, holding on to familiar structures; to put it in a nutshell, they tell about the fears and the decay that hounds humans. El Toro and Ric-Q form a formation of two. The duo describes their style without further ado as “Deutschen Herz-Industrialmetal” (German heart industrial metal). A mix of dark, powerful and electronic sounds which have already infected more than the usual scene insiders.
Now, the debut album will finally be released in fall 2011. One heck of a rocking, catchy, dark and powerful toxic mixture. HERZPARASIT are si-tuated somewhere between Eisbrecher, Rammstein, OOMPH! and Unheilig. Always melodic and always catchy.
The debut “Fromme Lämmer” (Pious Lambs) will be released in two versions and provides the die-hard “dark lis-tener” with a real dark and rocking listening pleasure. Especially in these times where several gothic rock acts adopt more and more soft and commercial tones, HERZPARASIT represent a refreshing diversion delighting with a certain snotty and earthy “back to the roots” attitude. Nevertheless, the Munich band toys with the cliché of this particular scene. The heart industrial metal rockers want to strike a chord, provoke thoughts, thrill their listeners and poison them in their very own way. El Toro and Ric-Q rip open society’s wounds and dare to enter realms where other bands of the same clientele do not go.
Vocalist Ric-Q’s lyrics are sardonic, intense, crucial, metaphoric, definitely self-mocking, but also very touching. A band that admittedly polarize but above all want to stay true to themselves which you can hear. “Fromme Lämmer” stands for the halo that a lot of us wear or have to wear. “Fromme Lämmer” means that nothing is as it seems. To quote a song of the album: “Wir sind nicht die bösen Männer, wir sind liebe fromme Lämmer. Lass dich vergiften – HERZPARASIT“ (We are not the evil men, we are gentle pious lambs. Let us poison you – HERZPARASIT). The debut is the result of nearly two years of existence of this remarkable band.
