Following the release of the first single “Heile Segen” (True Blessing) for the tour with MAERZFELD in May of this year, HEMESATH release their new album “So Schön” (So Beautiful) on October 7th. Musically the new songs tie in with the previous album “Für Euch” (For You), but also go a considerable step further in every aspect. By now, the band has long shed the limitations of the so-called “Neue Deutsche Härte” (New German Hardness) and demonstrates that hard German rock music can do more than just beat and thrash.

Driving drums, powerful guitars and singer Christopher’s charismatic vocals combine effortlessly with catchy melodies (“Elysium”, “Dies eine Leben” (This One Life)) whereas at times the quiet passages emotionally touch the listeners deep in their souls like “Schattenseele” (Shadow Soul) points out impressively. Epic tracks like “Flieg” (Fly) or the dark, stomping album finale “Bleib bei mir” (Stay With Me) blend perfectly into the musical overall concept. The wealth of sound variants and the alternation between aggression, tempo and melody run like a golden thread through all songs.

The lyrics deal refreshingly with topics far from the typical clichés of the genre, especially with regards to the beaten paths of pseudo-provoking verses. It is worth consciously listening to the stories that singer and songwriter Christopher has to tell, and letting oneself get carried away by the music as well as eloquence.

All in all, “So Schön“ (So Beautiful) proves that rock music with German lyrics can be exciting, energetic as well as emotional and, in the end, offers lots of fun.
