Born in the early 90s, swedish trio Morlocks around leader, composer and singer Johann Strauss is presenting a unique sound repertoire which carries the band to an really exceptional appearance within the industrial rock sector. Their latest album “The Outlaw Of Fives” is a fully crossover of orchestral passages, progressive industrial sound, metalbased rock music and electronic deepness which makes the opus very exciting. Not only the different vocal structures like clean singing, growling, shouting or choral singing proves the album’s variety but also a balanced and professional production method signalizes the premium quality. In late 2011 “The Outlaw Of Fives” was already released in Sweden, the home of Morlocks.

The orchestral twoparter “The Grand Dividing Theory” should be only one of many album highlights. The experimental and creepy “Lover/Enemy” presents a bizarre mixture of rock and metal elements. The Sisters Of Mercyesque “Whistiling in the dark” with its classic Goth-Rock bassline shows another side of the album before the catchy “Happy Day In Zombietown” even plays with Psychobilly sounds. The band’s old classic “Non Trigger Man” is also finding on the album in a modern and vigorous version. Finally the nine-minute track “The Conflict Synthesis” which convinces with much build-ups and a dark epical atmosphere, closes the album well.

Though it’s only their second official album in band history “The Outlaw Of Fives” definitely proves an outstanding status. In every song the listener find unheard samples or frequencies never registered before. Even though they’re much unknown in Germany – with this album Morlocks will become surely better know local realms.
