Moved and inspired by a genuine and abiding passion for real, honest and truly heartfelt, handcrafted music, four established musicians, late of a common 28-year involvement in such major projects as Dead Guitars, 12 Drummers Drumming and yet others, founded The Wide. The line-up includes Pete Brough (Lead Vocals, Acoustic Guitars), Ralf Aussem (Electric Guitars – and a broad repertoire of amazing sounds), Kurt Schmidt (Bass and backing vocals) and Hermann Eugster (Drums and backing vocals), who wrote, recorded and produced the ten songs of their album "Paramount". And true to their abilities and principles, this was done in a discerningly natural, live and authentic style that
lets the listener share in what The Wide felt when writing and recording these songs. Their music is authentic, meaningful and energetic Indie Rock / Pop music spiced with the occasional expressive ballad, danceable tune and atmospheric song. "Paramount" feels free and detached from any chains, like a wave in the ocean or a fresh breeze, which instantly catches your ear and takes away your soul. This album was made with the spirit of classic open minded songwriting and is packed with details to discover with every time listening to it. There are no boundaries holding back the music in terms of styles and song structure. So the band's name "The Wide" and album title "Paramount" could not be better chosen to describe this work of art.
