"The mood is dark, obscene, and bizarre." - A typical Seekers song: the unmistakable combination of catchy guitar melodies, unusual chord successions and driving electronic beats plus intense vocals with a memorable hookline. The lyrics are inspired by dark romanticism and deal with melodramatic madness and subtle criticism of the social change in ancient values.

The idea of love is increasingly viewed in an abstract way, pragmatically reduced to a mere reproductive instinct and thereby losing its magic. This leads to peculiar forms of relationships, caused by emotional alienation and intellectual coldness.

At the end there is the possibility to purge oneself of this burden of humanity by transforming dark urges and finding true freedom, consciousness and love. With that said, the actual message may not be as dark as it seems at first glance.

The corresponding music video will be released at the same time.

"The mood is dark, obscene, and bizarre." - Ein typischer Song von Seekers: die unverkennbare Kombination aus eingängigen Gitarrenmelodien, ungewöhnlichen Akkordfolgen und treibenden elektronischen Beats. Dazu intensiver Gesang mit einer einprägsamen Hookline. Die Texte bewegen sich zwischen düsterer Romantik, melodramatischem Wahnsinn und dezentem Tadel an der gesellschaftlichen Veränderung alter Werte.

Die Idee von Liebe wird zunehmend abstrakt betrachtet, pragmatisch auf bloßen Fortpflanzungstrieb reduziert und verliert dadurch ihren Zauber. Das führt zu merkwürdigen Formen von Beziehungen, bedingt durch emotionale Entfremdung und intellektuelle Kälte.

Am Ende steht die Möglichkeit, sich von dieser Last der Menschheit zu befreien, indem man dunkle Triebe transformiert und echte Freiheit, Bewusstsein und Liebe findet. Damit ist die eigentliche Botschaft vielleicht nicht so düster, wie sie auf den ersten Blick erscheint.
